Correlation Of Articular Cartilage Thickness Measurements Made With Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Arthrography, And Computed Tomographic Arthrography With Gross Articular Cartilage Thickness In The Equine Metacarpophalangeal Joint

Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound 2017;58:237-237.

“The pixel dimensions calculated from the MRI and CT parameters used in the study are provided in Table 1. In our study, the average diagonal pixel measurement used for measuring cartilage thickness on MRI was about 0.79 mm. The average gross cartilage thickness on the third metacarpal bone was 1.03 mm and on the proximal phalanx was 1.15 mm. This indicates an error in measurement of about 77% for the third metacarpal bone and 69% for the proximal phalanx.
