Congenital primary hypothyroidism causing disproportionate dwarfism is seldom diagnosed and rarely reported to occur in cats. The clinical signs of congenital hypothyroidism can range from severe to mild depending on the nature of the defect. Many affected kittens probably die before hypothyroidism is suspected or diagnosed.
